Today Dual Universe developers update their community on the current status of the game’s development. They also announce the Apollo patch, which was released on June 28th.

Dual Universe is a space-simulator currently in early access. Developed by the French studio Dual Universe Team, the game is set in a sci-fi setting where players can start a new civilization from scratch by assembling a team of settlers. The game focuses on the creation of a base and the design of a spaceship that matches the players’ needs and wishes.

Novaquark Studios was clearly so eager to share the newest news about Dual Universe that it broke convention and sent out its next newsletter in the middle of the month rather than waiting until the end of July. What is the source of all this zeal? For one thing, the developers have released a new public roadmap with many ambiguous release dates for new gameplay elements.

Asteroid discovery and mining, shields, and a first version of PvP reblancing will be added to the Apollo patch in mid-summer; a revamp of territory management and automated mining units will be added in late summer; an improved new user onboarding experience will be added in the fall; and more PvP balancing, boarding and docking changes, the ability to report abuse in-game, and a new user onboarding experience will be added in the winter. The complete roadmap picture can be seen below, and it may be clicked to see it in its entirety.

On the topic of the Apollo update from mid-summer, it’s now available on the PTS server and may be viewed by all game subscribers. The changelog for this version is described as “huge” in the email, and it is recommended that people reading the notes “enjoy [their] favorite food and drinks” while doing so. The email also discusses several new weapon models coming with Apollo, as well as a video showcasing some fantastic voxel art produced by community members.
