In the game, you may unlock and recruit a large number of Heroes. This Character Unlock Guide for King Arthur: Knight’s Tale teaches you all you need to know about each character we’ve unlocked so far, including how to unlock them, their class type, and related Traits.

In King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, you may take many different routes. Some characters are enslaved by the game’s Morality decisions. More information can be found in the game’s Morality menu, but we’ll go through which characters you can and can’t recruit based on your alignment. Mordred and Sir Kay are not included in the list below since you start the game with both of them unlocked.

Remember that death is irreversible unless you’re playing on Story difficulty. Save often. At least, that’s what the game says, but a certain artifact can genuinely bring back dead heroes.

Character Unlock Guide for King Arthur: Knight’s Tale – Act I

Dindraine, Lady (Marksman)

Lady-DindraineLady Dindraine To unlock this Hero, complete the “Among the Ruins” quest during Act I. This is the first task you receive after leaving the initial dungeon, and it is part of the plot. Lady Dindraine is an archer who specializes in long-range combat. She may also get trap-detection talents.

Balin, Sir (Vanguard)

Sir-BalinSir Balin During Act I, complete the “Bridge of Sorrow” assignment. This is an important aspect of the tale that should not be overlooked. You must accomplish the assignment before giving Sir Balin the bridge. For additional information, see our guide to choices and consequences. If you choose to recruit both characters, you may retain the bridge for yourself.

Balan, Sir (Champion)

Sir-BalanSir Balan This also happens during the mission “Bridge of Sorrow.” You must choose who to deliver the bridge to at the conclusion of the task. Sir Balan will join the Round Table as one of your knights if you offer him the bridge. You have the option of keeping the bridge for yourself. Sir Balan will still accompany you, but unlike with the other option, he will not threaten you.

Recruiting Sir Balan may lead to a later event that costs 400 gold, but you will lose a lot of Loyalty if you do so, so don’t spend all of your money.

Sir Ector is a man of many talents (Arcanist)

Sir-Ector-ArcanistSir Ector is a man of many talents (Arcanist) Complete the “Fire With Fire” quest. This is a level 3 main plot mission. Sir Ector will join you if you complete the quest.

Yvain, Sir (Marksman)

Sir Lanval is a fictional character (Champion)

It’s level 3 and appears throughout the tale in the Dungeons of Camelot, which are located outside of Camelot. When you’ve finished Sir Yvain’s quest. You must challenge Sir Lanval to a fight at the conclusion of the assignment, and then listen to Sir Kay, who will explain why Sir Lanval is worthy. Sir Lanval may only join if you choose option 3.

Sir Tristan is a fictional character (Vanguard)
