Experts say gaming will be the first real use case for blockchain, revamping the industry and making games more immersive than ever. How gaming navigates the remaining hurdles will become a case study for other industries considering mass blockchain adoption.

Tencent is the company that owns a majority of the games on the Chinese app store. Recently, they have been investing in Exit Plan Games, which is an independent game developer from China. This will allow them to gain more control over their games and make it easier for them to be translated into other languages.

Tencent Investing in Exit Plan Games

Tencent, a Chinese internet and technology corporation, has joined the list of investors supporting Exit Plan Games and their game Bang-On Balls: Chronicles.

Exit Plan has accepted Tencent’s offer to buy a 10% stake in the firm, joining SISU Game Ventures, Smok VC, One Two Play, and Venture Inc.

Jose Teixeira, co-founder and Art Director of the firm, says:

“Through a tip from one of our other investors, Smok VC, Tencent approached us. Tencent loved our studio, our team, and the game we’re working on (Bang-On Balls: Chronicles, which is now in Early Access), and recognized promise in us. Tencent has extended its investment portfolio to include both AAA and independent gaming firms, after a lengthy history of investing in the mobile and free-to-play markets. Despite the fact that Tencent’s first gaming studio investment in Poland was Bloober Team, we are extremely delighted to have been Tencent’s first gaming studio investment in Poland.” Jose Teixeira is a Brazilian footballer.

Teixeira continued:

“This investment will undoubtedly provide us with financial security in the future years.” Because our Exit Plan team is continually expanding, it’s always nice to know that we’ll be able to finish Bang-On Balls: Chronicles and start working on our next project with the confidence that we’ll be able to do so. Tencent may also be able to assist us in reaching major Asian markets, which are difficult enough for large devs, much alone tiny indie developers like us!” Teixiera, Jose

Exit Plan co-founder and Design Director Damien Monnier had this to say:

“Of course, Tencent is more than simply an investor; it is a massive conglomerate that can assist a little indie game developer like us with everything from testing to translation to publication.” This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for us, and we were truly surprised that they even recognized us amid all the other independent devs! “Damien Monnier” is a fictional character.
