Initially, only Humans were able to choose the Mage, Priest and Rogue class. To remove this barrier of entry for other races World of Warcraft has added these three classes so that all races will be able to play one or more roles in their game world. This change is being implemented with a new patch and comes after four years of debating on how best to make WoW accessible for everyone at launch.
The “tauren mage dragonflight” is a new World of Warcraft game that will be released in the next expansion. In this game, all races will be able to be Mages, Priests, and Rogues.
The devs want to get to a point in World of Warcraft where race isn’t a deciding factor in which class you choose. That’s according to a recent interview with lead combat designer Brian Holinka, who says it’s a long-term ambition that will take some time. On the plus side, with the Dragonflight expansion, all races will be able to become Mages, Priests, and Rogues (everyone can already be Warriors), with Paladins and Warlocks being mentioned as taking longer. (However, considering how important Night Elf Paladins were in Legion, it’s possible that this race/class trigger may be pulled sooner rather than later.)
Holinka also indicated that the team is working into directly sharing talent builds, but that this would most likely not be available at launch. Covenant skills are being explored for talent trees, since some are a good match for the class concept while others aren’t as natural outside of the Shadowlands. He further confirms that Gladiator mounts for ranked PvP will come in the form of dragon riding customisation choices, eliminating the need to choose between “participating in the new system” and “showing off my cosmetic prizes.”
If you’re interested in the new Warcraft mobile game, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claims that there are at least two in production, one of which is obviously influenced by Clash of Clans and the other by Pokemon Go, in a forum post.
